Waterpump discharge question

Hey y'all,

Well I finally got my 64 Fastwin running pretty smooth, stiil some issues to deal with but nothing major. Ok, enough chit chat, here's the question:

Is the waterpump discharge supposed to be a steady stream or is supposed to spray out?

The discharge that I see ABOVE the water line is a spray,

its coming out of the exhaust so it will not look steady, it will have a blown around look. the higher the rpms the more it is blown around.
