"Bought a 1974 starcraft 165 m
"Bought a 1974 starcraft 165 merc i/o got a deal because water was in oil (mid season). Drained the old oil, (a fair bit of water in the oil), pressurized the water jackets close to 25 psi could hear no leaks. Starts & runs like a top. Fresh oil, idled for an hour and half with ear muffs, no water at ALL. Took it on the lake and opened it up for about 15 minutes,,,, no water at all.
Is this likely my exhaust shutter, if so how risky is it to run for the summer that way, Finally I just noticed my exhaust boot is torn, could this have caused my problem
