Just replaced impeller on my 8

Just replaced impeller on my 87 mariner 60 hp. can't seem to get the water tube to go back in correctely. Any one have any tips to assist in this job?

"Adrian, alot of time the seal on the water pump cover (also called the guide tube in some applications - "A" in the below diagram) stays stuck on the water tube itself when you disassemble.

If it is stuck on the water tube, just pull it off and replace it on the water pump cover - makes lining things up alot easier..

Thanx Graham for the info. Iended up putting the tube into the upper end first and sliding the lower end into the discharge of the w/p last. Thanks so much. Adrian
