" At the lake, my engine hesit

" At the lake, my engine hesitates at about 1,000 rpm, and if I continue to rapidly move the throttle forward, will stall. The water temp. is 110 degrees. When I connect a hose at my house and run the engine, and limit the water flow so that I get a higher water temperature, the engine will accelerate fine. I have installed a new thermostate. How can I get the water temperature to run hotter when I am on the lake? It is a 1973, 120 HP, Mercruiser. I overhauled the engine. "

your temp is fine/your carb i

your temp is fine/your carb is the problem. If the engine will not run under a load wile in the water and will spin up on the trailer with no load it's a fuel starvation problem.
PS marine engines are supposed to run cool (er)
than auto. merc runs them at a 140 degree thermostat
