Water Temp Lite on after Self Test

"1999 Johnson 130 HP. Turn ignition key on. Get buzzer on then off, 4 test lites on, 4 test lites sequence off, and then Water Temp lite comes on. I have disconnected head temp sensors with same results. Can anyone help? Thanks, JIm"

u should,...do 1 more test,...disc pin # 6 ,tan w/NO stripe,..this will take the hot sender wire out completely.(if this wire grounds at ANY location,it will lite up."

"I disconneted plug and measured between pin 6 and ground. No short, bad gage. Thanks so much for your help. This is a used boat that I am trying to work probs out and I am a novice. Would you be so kind as to tell me what the other pins are for? Thanks again, Jim"

Purple wire

Purple wire goes to pin 1 - 12V Key Switch On
Black wire goes to pin 2 - Ground
Gray wire goes to pin 3 - Tach pulse
Pin 4, (tan w/yellow stripe) turns on ?No Oil? light (wire from VRO Pump)
Pin 5, (tan w/black stripe) turns on ?Low Oil? light (wire from VRO Oil Tank)
Pin 6, (tan w/no stripe) turns on ?Hot? light (wire from Overheat Sensor in head)
Pin 7, (tan w/orange stripe) turns on ?Check Engine? light (wire from In-Line Fuel Sensor)
Pin 8, (tan w/blue stripe) used to activate the Warning Horn. It supplies a ground to the horn circuit when any other warning circuit (pins 4 thru 7) are grounded"
