Water steaming from top of mid section.

Folks, Since I'm relatively new to boating... 3 years, I'd like some suggestions on what this problem may be. Evinrude 175 with water spewing in steam form, from the top of the lower unit... actually the midsection. Any Ideas? Gasket? O-ring maybe? Water tube?
