Water pump

I am rebuilding a water pump for a Johnson 115 outboard engine model J115TLCTE. The instruction states an adhesive is used to attach the special shaped gasket to the housing and the adhesive is used to glue the metal cup into the housing. What is the adhesive? It also states to lubricate the impeller. What is the lubricant? Thanks, Craig

petroleum jelly,dish soap,silicon,marine grease,etc.The adhesive is called permatex or omc type m. It comes in a can with a brush in the cap.
