water pump ??

I have Mariner 90 hp 1984. i changed the impeller have a fat rubber washer and a o-ring extra didnt see them when i took it apart Would like some help first name calling later
 
Did you have the waterpump base off?

There is an o-ring (a little bigger than a silver dollar in size) that sandwichs in between the bearing and the oil seal under the base.

And that "fat washer" is probably the one that goes around the driveshaft. After the pump is all back together that (drive shaft ring) slides down and snugs against the cover to kinda/sorta seal the hole where the driveshaft goes through the cover.

If the o-ring is little (would be tight fit on your thumb) then it is probably meant for the top end of the driveshaft (opposite end from the water pump).

My parts manual doesn't specifically show it, but many models use an o-ring on the driveshaft, just below the bottom of the splines that mate into the crankshaft. The o-ring stops the grease from getting out and the cooties from getting in to the crankshaft/driveshaft splines.

If it's that, those are included in most waterpump kits since it should be replaced anytime your drop the lower unit...
