"Hi folks,It's hard to kill a bad thing, I got myself a lower unit for my beautiful merc800,I want to change the water pump base,it's a little rough,but the # I cannot find or cross ref. It's 46-73804,I think,yes I put on my specs.,but it's a little scuffed.All help and suggestions, as always greatly appreciated,Thank you.

Can anyone please help.I've got a 1999 90 hp mercury force motor and need to replace the impeller.I can't get the bottom part off.I've loosened 5 bolts but it seems stuck.

Did you get the one under the trim tab? If not,remove trim tab and it's in there."
 
"The trim tab is the fin shape

"The trim tab is the fin shaped object above the propeller. There should be a small plastic cover on the leg,pop it and this gives you access to the 9/16 bolt that holds the trim tab.
Have you a manual? Well worth the $38 or there abouts if you are going to do some of you own work. You can get one here or there is an online one here as well."

Hello I just bought a new water pump kit for a 1986 Mercury 150 XR2 Black Max. The Impeller is bigger than the housing is this normal?

Hey FastJeff Thanks finaly got my water pump working. got another question tho. My motor acts like its choking down whne you put the prop in gear. Like the fuel is shutting off.
