ok ive read tons of posts about testing impellers , and just wanted to know ...when on the hose in the driveway i can see a nice stream of water peeing on the ball gears...does that mean my impellar is working or is it simply the pressure from the hose ? now i know how to pull the hose at the thermostat and test but that only works in the lake...is that correct or am i just not getting it? thanx in advance... dimitri...ps..will post result of the ground issue today if mama lets me play boats...after all it is mothers day...

More importantly, you'll want to very shortly see water exiting with the exhaust gasses and through the exhaust outlet.
It will even cause a change to the sound of the exhaust when working correctly.
