water pump stuck

I have a water pump that I cannot unlock. When i took the housing off the rod was turning counterclockwise and clockwise. The housing came off fine, but the impeller is stuck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the key to unlock or remove the wheel? Thanks for the help.

I figured it out. I cut the rubber wheels off the impeller, as I was going to replace anyway, and then clamped some pliers on it to get leverage and then will all my might turned and it finally unlocked.
