Water pump kit - what are all these parts 1990 70hp

[capn_morgan]

So I was looking online at waterpump kits for my '90 70hp rude, and I see some with pictures of springs and parts that don't seem to have anything to do with the water pump. What gives?

Re: Water pump kit - what are all these parts

Both of these are water pump kits and both have lots of extra parts, including springs, that aren't part of the water pump.

yes,.....those r for thermostat rebuild.....if they r showing all the parts they will ship,u r missing the impeller.....i have never seen a water pump kit contain those parts,...not saying it does not exist,....i have just never seen it ,so i'd be a lil cautious......there is also,no thermostat in that grp..i just looked at first pic...

Re: Water pump kit - what are all these parts

Both the links refer to OMC kit 432955 which is a water pump repair kit

THIS shows what should be in that kit.

Unscrupulous eBay seller offering a random collection of parts for the unwary buyer.

Re: Water pump kit - what are all these parts

Well, they are two different sellers with two different pictures. One shows the impeller and one does not, but they both show the springs and other extra parts for the same kit. That's too much of a coincidence to think they are just selling random parts.
