Water Pump Cover Assembly

Trillers

Folks - I have a pair of 2009 (or 10?) 40 HP Bigfoot Motors in excellent condition and with less than 300 hours each, but....during the last service we noticed oil coming out of the water intake in the lower unit. When we took the unit off to find the source of the leak we discovered that the Water Pump Cover Assembly had really deteriorated - and the swivel pin had badly rusted.

So we ordered the assembly and the Merc parts manuals and diagrams showed the assembly complete with the seals. Only when we ordered the parts they came without the seals. A couple of calls to Merc dealers confirmed they had no idea why the seals were not included.

Now we are on the manhunt for these seals (Part Nos. 26-44035 and 26-44036.

Has anyone experienced this issue and if so, were you able to find the seals - and where?

Thanks!!

What is your engine serial number?

Are you asking about seals item numbers 25 and 26? https://www.marineengine.com/parts/...earhousing-driveshaft-2311-gear-ratio-bigfoot

If yes, then the part numbers you post appear incorrect but your having your serial number should help confirm things a bit more.
