water problem on a mercury 7.5

i have a 7.5 hp mercury . after and before changing the impeller there is no water from the tell tail . is there anything i can flush through the cooling system to clear any blockage

Does it overheat? If not, you might simply have a plugged Tell Tale outlet--run a wire up it and see.

PS: I'm assuming your model has a hose running off the top of the block to the outlet. Most do.

You are sure the key to drive the impeller is in place ?-----There is a plastic washer at the top of the water tube.----On severe overheat it is known to melt and block waterflow to the engine.----Was the old impeller in pieces and did you find all the pieces if it was ??
