Water on Spark Plugs

[For Petes Sake]

My 1978 Johnson Seahorse is not happy. I found water dropplets on two of the plugs out of the three cylincers. I was informed that possibly the head gasket and or the exhaust gaskets are leaking. My question: Is this too big of a job for a backyard mechanic?

As for a 3-cylinder, the head gasket is no big deal, but the exhaust cover gasket might be a bit worse as powerhead has to be lifted off.

The head gasket is no problem to do. The problem will be the head itself. Inspect it well.
