Water leaking??

Manual shows one way to remove the exhaust cover. Then shows removing the extension case, lower unit, etc to put it back on?!?!

I also noticed there is a Exhaust guide seal. But I didnt think I would need to remove that in my instance. I'm thinking pull that cover off, replace the O-ring and put it back together? Why would it be necessary to remove the extension case etc like the manual states when not necessary to remove the cover?

Just to update: Replaced the o-ring and fit the exhaust guide seal in nicely. Put everything back together, no more leak.

Not a bad job, its a little tricky making sure the exhaust guide seal lines up correctly.

Just took the exhuast manifold off my 200 tonight. Waiting on parts to re-assemble. Did you replace the anodes, manifold gaskets and hoses as well or just re-use? Did you use any type of sealant on the manifold gasket?

I had to wait on parts as well. Seems no dealers keep the parts needed for this job in stock

My anodes looked very good, so I did not replace them.

The manifold gasket was torn up a little, and is supposed to be replaced if removed anyway. So yes that was replaced

The hoses are all to be inspected, if they are not cracked or damaged, you can re-use them.

You need to use a sealant to seal down on the lip of the exhaust gasket seal. (NOT ON THE SEAL ITSELF) You can use permatex or equivalent for that job

One thing to remember, that seal goes in before fit the exhaust cover back on. Make sure it seats in nicely. Its a little tricky to make sure it fits down in the groove correctly.

There is also an O-ring that fits down around the bottom of the exhaust cover

Take your time, its not a bad job. Check your thermostats while you have access to everything too. Usually a lot of corrosion around that area.
