Im working on a friends 1986 9.9 j10rccd outboard. It quit peeing water one day so I bought a housing rebuild kit with new impellor and installed it. Ran with muffs and noticed water leaking out of the foot and not apparently making it to the top of the motor. So I removed the foot and removed the thermostat cover and poured water into the port and water ran on the outside of the tube not in it. Puzzled
Is it possible the water tube is corroded and needs replaced? It looks to be copper but dont know. Has anyone ever had this situation arise or can lead me in the right direction before I disassemble this motor and is this going to be a chore or a easy fix. Thanks in advance...
