Water leak

Why would this cover between the heads leak

Do you know what motor you are working on ?---Any pictures of the V-4 or V-6 ?? motor.----Likely a gasket is leaking.----If a V engine that cover is water cooled.

1989 90 hp VRO JOHNSON V-4

Replace the 2 gaskets there.----Simple job on a fresh water motor.-----Inspect pistons / rings when the covers are off.----Or perhaps it is the gasket between the block and exhaust housing leaking ?----I can not see your motor.

The head gaskets aren't leaking

There are several,people,here with decades of experience. If you do not provide decent information,they cannot help,you. Your original,post didn’t even state what motor you’re dealing with.

Would you call a car dealer & give him the lack of information posted here, &;expect the service dept to help,you? These service techs shouldn’t have to pull teeth to get basic information. Post some photos showing the leak area, state what year model motor.
