water leak 1958 seahorse 7.5 hp

seems my motor is a seven and half evinrude going by model on motor plate somebody switched cowls , but anyway i have a water leak at my shifting leaver anybody know what can cause this ty

Usually bad O Ring(s) on shift shaftz.

thank you i looked at a diagram and seen them do i have to pull powerhead to put then on
