water issues merc 120, 153 cid

I recently purchased a pontoon that has been sitting idle for 4 years. I tuned the engine, hooked up water to the stern drive and started the engine. I apparently do not have any water coming to the engine from the stern drive. what issues are common on these I should look at?

There is a impeller at the mid section of the outdrive. This is most likely the cause of the lack of water.

If there is no water at all, as there should be some due to water pressure from the hose...........then you may have a blockage.

On the four cylinder there is one hose that comes from the back of the boat/transom. this is the incoming water hose.

If you remove it you can back flush the incoming water line and see if anything comes out back. Of course the outdrive should be removed for this procedure.

If you are not confident on replacing the impeller or any of the above seek someone who knows more and has experience.
