water inlet tube

I have a new tube insert to go on copper tube on the powerhead end of tube trying to figure out how it installs does not seem to fit inside powerhead where tube goes is the insert just a guide or i am i missing some thing

Yes, some numbers will help...maybe picture too. Set size to under 1000k.
