Water in power steering system

1989 5.8L Cobra.I was losing a little fluid and now the fluid in the pump reservoir is gone milky. I will replace the power steering cooler. What is the proper way to purge the power steering system of contaminated fluid?

Ayuh,.... remove the return line from the back of the pump, the 1 with the screw hose clamp, direct it into a waste bottle...
As somebody turns the wheel, lock to lock, repeatedly, pour fresh fluid into the resv. as it's needed to keep it full,...
The fluid leaving into the waste bottle will eventually turn to clean oil,...
Stop, 'n reattach the return line to the pump at that point....

The motor doesn't need to be runnin' either....
