Water in oil.

I have a Yamaha 6hp fourstroke. The engine is approx 3 years old and is "as new" with very little usage. While having the engine serviced recantly we found that water is getting into the sump.
Both the powerhead-to-leg and cylender head gaskets have been replaced, however, the problem still remains. My mechanic has run out of ideas, so if anyone has experienced this problem I would gladly like some davice.

Fairly common complaint on 4 stroke outboards.--------------causes include operation for short periods of time. Operation in cold water with no thermostat.-Storage in extremely damp areas.

Hi Justintime: When you say "change the motor" I assume you mean change the oil. How long should I "run it hard" for as I'm afraid to damage the bearings running with water in the oil.

run it hard for like 10 mins and check

run the motor more often. You own it, you might as well use it.
