Water in Oil

I have a Mercury Sterndrive, v-6 and when I started it water and oil came out of the vent on the valve cover that is vented into the flame arrestor.I know it was not winterized and am wondering if I broke or froze the exhaust elbow or the water distribution housing.:eek:

Or the valley in-between the heads, the block, the water jacket, the manifold. Should i go on ?

What year is this anchor of a motor ? Seen another v-6 being used as a anchor over by the sailboats last time i was there.

ya, hate to say it but its time for a new motor. What I did was buy a used one on ebay and combined the two, to make one good working motor. Well, I had a mechanic do it for me. We bored out the block to give it a little more power, shaved the head and exhaust mani to make sure they weren't warped. Used most of the parts off the original motor because it had less wear on it.

If the engine oil is not contaminated w/water you may be OK. A cold engine will spit moisture droplets from the vent hose going to the arrester; it's part of the byproducts of combustion.

where V6 and V8's crack when frozen
