I'm in the process of changing the water pump on my 1976 Evinrude 115 and decided last last week to drain my lower unit.
When it was coming out it looked pretty good, but after letting it settle this is what it looks like.
Visual inspection of the prop shaft seal looks OK. I'd like to avoid the pain of changing all the seals (mainly prop shaft) if possible though.
I've ordered a cheap pressure tester kit but thought I'd ask the age old question of the good folk here (aided by a photo).
From what I have read, some suggest a minimal amount of water in there is OK. How does this photo compare with the experiences of others?
I'm a self-taught DIYer with limited experience and funds. I recently bought the motor and it seems very resilient for its age.
