Water hose adapter

Just bought a 77 Webbcraft 20ft. Trying to find and figure out what adapter I need and how to hook up a hose so we can try and start it. It has an OMC 235 motor in it. Anyone know where and how to hook up one of these adapters?

Can't run it on muffs at the drive? Put the drive In a bucket of water. .make sure the cavitation plate is under water

Ayuh,..... He's got an old Stringer drive,..... That won't work,.....

They used a hose adapter mounted to the upper, at or near the tilt pins,....

How would I hook up a hose to it since I can't use muffs on it? Would anyone happen to have a pic or a diagram? Can I put a hose directly on the water inlet on the water pump?

With the flushing kit can I leave it on when we run the boat or do I have to take it off and install it only when we are needing to run it not in the lake?

Yes, it can be left on. It takes the place of the starboard side trunion cap. There is a cap that screws on, much like a cap for an outside water faucet at your home.

For your ’77 Webbcraft with the OMC 235, you’ll want a set of “ear-muff” flush adapters that clamp over the lower unit’s water intakes, hose on full, drive down, water flowing, then start at idle only. If it uses a thru-hull, a “fake-a-lake” plunger or a barbed hose adapter works too. An Aerocom dual-feed muff is a solid option for an easier, reliable hookup.

It's a 6 year old post....
Furthermore, 77 is an electric shift. The water pick-up was just forward of the exhaust nozzle/"rudder".
There are water intakes on the side of the gearcase, MUFFS WI NOT WORK!

Should say "There are NO water intakes on the side of the gearcase" Sorry for my mistake.
