I just found out today the wat

I just found out today the water flutter valves in the exhoust are bad. Does anyone know how hard they are to replace?

"how did you find out they are bad? By the time you disassemble far enough to see the water shutters are bad, it's about a 30 second job to change them on most Mercruisers.

They are located on top of the

They are located on top of the exhaust down pipe on a 4 banger and "Y" pipe on a "V" engine. Make sure the shutters didn't fall down into the pipe. Use soapy water to lube the rubber exhaust couplers during installation. You can also dip the end of the rubber coupler into very hot water for 5-10 secs. to ease installation.
