warning horn question

My first boat with a 250 hp evinrude Ficht 2004
can someone educate me about the warning horn?
when I first turn on the battery switch I hear 3 beeps then when I turn the ignition switch on there is no sound at all
Is this normal?

Having no knowledge of the "Ficht" engine, I'm unable to answer that question... However, in leaving the battery switch in the ON position and turning the key off... then in a moment, back ON... Do you then get the single short beep that advises you that the warning horn is active?
 
No, no beeping at all .
Another issue I noticed is that repair manual talks about a engine check gauge , well my boat does not have one, did I buy a lemon? This boat is a Chaparral Sunesta 230 deck boat 1996 .
I got it three years ago been fine until now.

Hopefully other members with knowledge of the "Ficht" engine jump in here soon. I retired in 1991 after some 30+ years in the trade and that was prior to the "Ficht" coming upon the scene. Obviously the warning horn setup isn't functioning properly, but what else... I don't have a clue. I'll back out of here now, and I do wish you luck, hoping you obtain the answer(s) you need.
