"Started my 91' 200 hp Johnson this morning and idled at the dock for 5 minutes then headed off. About 50 yards from the dock the warning horn starts going off. Sometimes constant and sometimes it's on/off almost like the connection is not good. Shut the motor off and started it up and the horn did not come on. Got about 15 miles outside the Golden Gate and the horn is going crazy again like the above. It comes and goes at all speeds. Fearing something is wrong I turned around and headed back into the bay. My floscan did not have a change in reading, the motor seems to be burning oil (my tank was down the same amount), temp was like normal. Got back into the bay and shut the motor down. Turn the key and it does the regular one horn, but now the horn is going off with the engine not running.

I have a 2 y/o new VRO and used OMC clamps and hose too. I have a feeling it could be the horn or some loose wire. I'm going to look at it this week but some other ideas would be great."

"unplug,the sensor for the oil

"If no SLOW was activated, it rules out everything but the oil-tank and a defective horn."

Problem solved! Went down to the boat and turned the key on. Horn stayed on right away... unplugged the oil tank and horn off. Time for a new sensor!
