Warning buzzer/indicator lights

Hi i have a Honda side mount control box, and it’s my understanding that when you turn the key on the warning buzzer and indicator lights (for oil pressure and high temp) should come on for a second to let you know they are working. Mine doesn’t. I have tested both components on a 12v and both work fine. I then checked for continuity at the ignition switch in both the ON and START position and all checks out good. Where do I go from here? What makes the buzzer and lights come on for a second when you start the engine. Is it possible my remote just doesn’t have this function? Is there a way to test them by setting them off? It’s on a 1999 BF90 that is new to me, if that helps.
Thanks Eric

The lights will work the way that you describe on the newer fuel injected 90. Yours is carbureted and they do not come on when you turn key.

The green light will come on when the engine runs and has good oil pressure.

The red on will come on when there is an overheat.

The buzzer might sound briefly when you first start the engine, but normally will only sound when there is an overheat or oil pressure issue.

Thanks for the reply Mike. It’s hard to see if the green light is on in the sun, but I guess I’m trying to fix something that’s not broke.

I have a similar issue. BF150 about 225 hours 2008 Running along fine then get a beeping. Only light on is the green light. I also noticed that I wasn't getting any indication on the amp meter. Could it be a fuse? I emptied the fuel separator switch (blew it out) dumped the fuel separator restarted, engine runs fine, still beeping warning, still green light on. Engine is pumping water. All indicator lights lite up in the first 2 seconds so they are good. What would cause a beeping warning, and a green light on?
