"Hi,
Newby here, I have a 1990 Johnson 120hp looper that has a failing fuel pump. I bought it with the VRO system already disconnected and have been mixing fuel. I want to keep it that way and have been poking around here for info and have seem to found two options. One is # 438402, which seems to be replacement that will mount right to the old bracket, just without the VRO end. Does anyone know if it comes with a new pulse limiter? The other option I hear about is only @ $60 and seems to have the pulse limiter removed, so I'm guessing it's electric. Will this work and mount with my motor? Does anyone know which would be a better option for my motor?

Thanks!"

Any older fuel pump from say a pre 83 V-4 will work and can be adapted. The earlier V-4 135hp ( 75 and 76 ) will also work and you just need to remove the limiter and intall a fitting for pressure /vacuum to the pump. The earlier 135hp unit is likely the cheapest and simplest. There are repair kits available for the VRO.
