vro without oil pump

Can I run my vro without the oil pump if I just mix my fuel in the gas tank? Any issue with this?

just plug off the oil inlet line, and disconnect the wiring harness from the pump.

Awesome thanks Bill! Bout to go get it done. Quick amateur question though......what powers the vro? That harness that. I'm disconnecting only powers the oiler?

The oil pump ( I think) runs off the engine vacuum, same as the fuel pump. That harness disconnects the alarms that are built into the pump to warn of low oil, no oil, and a couple of other things too. The OMC engine manual tells you to plug the oil inlet, and disconnect the harness. I did it with a 150 hp Johnson I had. No troubles
