VRO vs electric fuel pump...should I hook VRO back up?

Local marine mechanic disconnected my vro and took the oil tank off and put on an electronic fuel pump as he thought that was an issue with my boat bogging down at full throttle. Well that didn't fix the issue. Anyways, should I hook the VRO back up and just mix fuel since I don't have the oil tank and considering that the fuel pump didn't help? Just wondering if the VRO is better then an electronic fuel pump? Motor is a 1985 evinrude 150hp v6.

The mechanic kept your $$$ oil tank assembly?

If his cure didn't correct the problem, he should have returned the system to what it was.

What happens do you suppose if a fuel hose starts leaking or a carburetor starts to flood when the fuel is pressure driven via an electric fuel pump? Many members advise against them.

yes he kept my money and oil tank assembly!!! Ripped me off. And sense putting on the electronic fuel pump it has run worse. So can I hook the vro and just mix my fuel since I don't have the oil tank assembly?

You should calmly and firmly speak to that "mechanic" to have your oil tank returned along with your VRO pump etc, then let him know that you aren't going to stand for his actions and are filing charges to take him to small claims court unless he resolves the problem to your satisfaction.

Personally, I'd take him to small claims court just to have others see what a scam artist he is.
