"I've replaced my 2004 VP DP-SM trim sensor last season and it is only lasted 4 months. The original one was bad when I got the boat in 2007. Seems everyone knows they go bad quickly, isn't there an aftermarket unit or something, so I can have my trim gauge work. Any help would be appreciated.

Mark."

In my experience it is the wire harness that goes bad not the actual sensor. I used additional heat shrink tubing and wire loom to protect the harness from being kinked and exposed to the salt water.
