"I need to pull the oil pan off...Has anyone tried this with the motor in the boat? I looked and it looks like i have good access all the way around since the motor mounts do not go under/across the bottom of the engine.

Is there a special 'marine' pan gasket, or will an auto parts store one for a B20 work?

"Thanks EP. You are not gonna believe how stupid I am(ok, maybe you will). I was trying to change the oil last night by syphoning it out through the dip stick hole....Well the plastic tube I was using got stuck and wont come out. I am so upset over it I am sick! I really hope that I can get the pan off with the engine in the boat. Have you ever done it or know that its possible?

"Success! I didn't even h

"Success! I didn't even have to completely pull the pan. I just removed the front 10 or so bolts and then loosened the remaining ones in the back. let the pan start to fall at an angle and then fished around for the plastic tube. Once i found it, I grabbed it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled it out.

While i had the the pan down, i syphoned out the oil. What a relief!"

Believe it or not, there are some of us here who are glad that we're not the ones that messed up but very glad to find that others are able to get things fixed. Thanks for sharing how to get the tube out of the pan."
