"In early May this year , I fitted a new propeller to my VP AQq51B/290A power unit.
The prop that I fitted was a VP 14x19 High Speed Part#814628 (aluminium)which I was assured was the direct replacement for the old Part#854147.
On taking the boat out of the water last week (after no more than 30 hours running)I find what appears to be the start of cavitation pitting at the root of all of the three blades. The boat was in fresh water and the transom and leg anodes are fitted and in good condition.
The pittong is at the root of all three blades and extends over the aft third of the length on the trailing non-pressure side.
Is this a problem that other readers have experianced or am I just plain unlucky."
