New to the Volvo Penta motors after plenty of experience with Carb'ed Mercury/Mercruisers. I just replaced the impeller on a new to me Volvo Penta V8 380 C-D, which had a few chunks missing.
I've heard a few people on the 'nets suggest a backflush, but this is also a closed cooled motor. I do see on the coolant routing a smaller line passes through the fuel pump and into the exhaust elbow. Anyone with experience here on 1. Yes or no to Backflush? and 2. Where is best to do it? Pictures of my impeller below:
