Hi to all
I am new in the forum.
I own an Espace 625 (OCQUETEAU - french brand- fishing ship 6.25 meter - 1.3 ton) with a 78 hp inboard engine (TMD 22 A year 1996). This one should reach 4100 to 4400 rpm w clean hull for 18 to 20kts.
The fact is 12kts looks like my top speed. The prop is a for blades 16x15. The engine strat perfectly, no fumes, no oil spill.....
my first question goe to the prop....my top rpm is around 3650...which means the prop resistance is too strong against the engine torque.
My second question should have been the cylinder compression, but...no oil consumption which is not really coherent with a failing compression...??
my last question could be also about a turbo failure but in that case , if insufficient fresh air I should have state blach fumes (excess of fuel) at top speed...but it is not the case
So does somebody have any idea about how to solve my problem
cheers
Eric

Hi, did you solve the problem, I have a beneteau Antares 6.2 with exactly the same problem! Boat speed is 10knots max and should be nearer to 20knots, engine revs to 3600 rpm in neutral and when engaged, only just bought the boat, clean hull etc, be very interested in your findings and reply, thanks Andy
