"The Temp Gauge for the port

"The Temp Gauge for the port engine in my boat Volva TAMD 41 will go to 250 deg when at cruise throttle, after checking the engine ther was no evidence of overheating, steam,smell or touching the engine. When you back down the throttle,the gauge will drop to the normal range. Everything has been cleaned,new pump impellers installed.I was told it may be the thermostat,but cannot locate where they may be. Any Suggestions???"
 
Thermostats are under cover on

Thermostats are under cover on front of head. If alarm is not going off I would check sending unit and connections. Should be on side of thermo housing at water pump side. Yellow wire.

"I seem to have some of the same heating issues as glenn on his tamd41.My aqad41a will heat at cruise speed, about 3500 rpms. What should normal cruising temp be?
