"}I have a 3.0L volvo penta, It runs hot @idle, only when in gear and at wot. I replaced the manifold and cleaned out the riser. AS far as i can tell the raw water intake is clear and tight. Any suggestions?"
 
How did you 'clean' ou

How did you 'clean' out the riser? Did you dip it in acid and rod it to remove scale? If you run in salt water and it is over three years old I would replace it with new.

Inspect the weep hole on your circulating pump. Is it leaking? Is there wobble on the water pump pulley?

Have you inspected / replaced your thermostat lately?

Check all hoses and clamps as well.

"Thanks for the response, The boat is mainly used in freash water, the riser wasn`t too bad. A little bit plugged up righ behind the baffle. easy to clean out. The circulating pump is new, the raw water pump and housing is new, The t stat is new, When I had the head off I sent it out to be checked for cracks and it passed the test. I wonder if they missed something."
