"I have just purchased a yacht

"I have just purchased a yacht which is fitted with a Volvo Penta MD2c diesel engine. It is fresh water cooled.
I would be grateful if someone could kindly advise me on the following:-
(1) Where exactly is the cold weather start button located ? What does it look like ?
(2) Is this engine fitted with two water pumps (one being for the heat exchanger)?
(3) Does the heat exchanger have an anode fitted, if so where is it located ?
(4) Are there any spare parts literature available for the fresh water cooling part of the engine which covers hoses etc ?
Thanks in anticipation."

"Cold start button is inboard

"Cold start button is inboard of injection pump aft a little. It is a brass colored flat button. There are 2 pumps. If it is a Volvo closed system, there is no anode. If it is volvo I can forward copy of cooling system page. May be able to download from Marine Parts Express. Engine model is a MD11C not MD2C."

"Thanks for the information Di

"Thanks for the information DickV. The engine is a MD11c and it is a Volvo closed cooling system. I would be very grateful if it is possible to send me a copy of the cooling system page as an email attachment. My email address is [email protected]
Thanks again for your trouble & help. Regards - John."

"The link to the parts schemat

"The link to the parts schematics is
http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/VP_Schematics/

There is a workshop manual at
http://www.bluemoment.com/downloads.html

If you dont have an owners manual you can down lod one from http://www.volvo.com/volvopenta/global/en-gb/marine_leisure_engines/parts_servic e/publication_search Just put MD11 in the "engine type" box.

BTW it is a dumb idea to put your email address on the forum unless you want to attract loads of spam etc. (Other forums dont allow it.) Registered users can send you an email from your profile."

Vics is correct about download

Vics is correct about downloads. I do believe I offered that information. It looks like any help I may be offering is not required by Vics on this site. Sorry. I feel I should cease posting.

Sorry i did not mean to tread

Sorry i did not mean to tread on any toes. I had links to the workshop manual and the owners manual that I thought might be useful. I also had the link to the VP schematics on the Marine Parts Express website so I posted that as well.

Posting links is I feel always helpful if you have them. Half the time if you don't people ask for them!
