Volvo Penta md2b fuel injection pump install

Hi!
I’m attempting to reinstall the fuel injection pump that was leaking diesel and I got it revisioned from a shop.
The problem I got now is at follows:
- when I insert the pump,I can see there is an arm in the block with a round insert for the little cylinder that Sits on the pin of the pump rail . ( I hope it makes sense)
Basically the round cylinder slides on to the pump pin on the rail and then from the top I’m sliding into the engine block aligned with the insert.

If I do this and I push the pump down, even tho it seem inserted correctly, the accelerator leaver it’s stuck.( it doesn’t come back ) I had the engine running like this and Revs are super high no idle just maximum Revs

Therefore I took the pump out again, and I’ve noticed that if I press the cold start button on the side of the pump, the accelerator leaver is free to move and the pump is actually sitting nicely. My concern is that, the button doesn’t release anymore and I’m afraid it will be like having the choke on at all times..

I’m now wandering if someone has done this job before and knows the right way to do it..

I don’t think the pump could be inserted any differently as on the block there is a gap for the arm to sit underneath and is easy to slide the pump in all aligned with the pin ..

Tho I’m facing this issue and before ruining something I thought I put into the forum and I might get the answer.

Thanks !
