"I have a volvo penta 4.3 gl. The hand throttle works great when it's in drive and it's very easy accelerating. My concern is when you depress the detent button to move the throttle forward or reverse, it's very hard moving it unless you tug on it. This causes problems when I have to reverse it when docking and due to tugging on it, I over accelerate. To make a a long story short, should the throttle move easily without any resistance when you move it in and out of neutral. I read some information in the Volvo Penta manual relating to a friction brake adjustment for the hand throttle, but I'm not sure if this is the answer. The dealer tells me that everthing is within spec. If anyone had a similar problem, or can share some info. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Denny"
