"Volvo Penta AQ260A motor tune
"Volvo Penta AQ260A motor tuned up last fall. Replaced: filters, distributer cap, rotor, points, spark plugs and wires. Engine starts and idles fine but bogs down and shuts down when put under load between 5 and 10 knots. Just before shut down is a strong smell of gas. Carb gets flooded and won't restart for hours even after dried out, only to repeat the problem. Heard it might be weak spark; hole in the fuel pump diaphram; clogged filters (including the in-line filter); or water in the fuel. Water absorber added & Service checked for water - dosen't seem to be the challenge. The filters have been replaced this week, but engine only tested at dock, not under load. Any advice?"
