"I have an AQ 120 and water comes flying out of the sea water side cap when I accelerate. My gut is that is is a clog somewhere, this also causes the engine to run super hot. Any tips? I think the blockage might be in the exhaust manifild. I took off a couple of the plugs but dont know how I can check for a blockage that way. I am a little scared to take apart the manifold. Any suggestions?"

"Sounds like it could be a plugged exhaust manifold. Remove it and check the passages. They are probably plugged and corroded.

Have a great day,

Rob."

Someone had mentioned to me that there might be a chemical spray to use in the open plugs on the manifold to break down whatever might be clogging it. Is this true and does anyone know the name?

"Muriatic acid will dissolve rust and lime; and, if you are not careful, it will eat the rest of the manifold internal as well if the wastage is extended. If the manifold is internally corroded and plugged, your best bet is to replace it with a new one. Chemical cleaning gives questionable results and more often than not the "boiled" manifold fails shortly afterwards, usually when you least expect it. Here is a link to the Sierra aftermarket manifold for your engine.

"Also need to think about the cap.....Mine kinda does he same. If I move the cap, it stops.Like a seal in the cap is messed up. My boat runs at 180 cruising, and at worst does 210. (thats 5000 rpm and 28 mph.)
The cap to the exchanger does spew sometimes. Check the cap."
