Volvo penta active station

Hopefully someone could help me with what I hope is simple.
I’m able to start up my starboard engine when I see the green light on at my active station, (I have the Volvo Penta system) but the port side green will not light up and will not allow me to start the engine and my shifter is in neutral. What is it I can check for or do
 
Not a VP guy, but have you tried turn the key ON and try moving the shifter Fwd/Rev slightly to see if light comes on
