Volvo Penta 5.0 FL wiring

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for a Volvo Penta 5.0 Fl "mu"(302 ford). I recently built a high performance motor and just want to make sure I can get everything wired correctly!

Thanks in advance!

A tad bit off topic here....... but if this is a 5.0FLPMDA, 5.0FLPNCB or 5.0FLPNCM look at this schematic pertaining to the PDS.
Since you are this deep into things, I'd recommend that you replace this bearing while in there.
This will be a 6206-2RS sealed version..... about $14 in an industry standard bearing.
If your flywheel cover offers a grease port for this bearing, it then becomes a 6206.

Again, if this is a 5.0FLPMDA, 5.0FLPNCB or 5.0FLPNCM, the PDS pilot nose will require the crankshaft bushing for PDS centering.
It may be shown as a ball bearing, but it can be a bronze bushing since there is no rotation here.

Thanks guys for the input! I can't seem to find them anywhere online?!?! The only think I keep running across is a parts manual for the engine. My main concern is wiring in an MSD distributor and the new alternator.

@Ricardo...I can't seem to understand where this diagram is going. I'm assuming I must have a different engine because it all looks foreign to me.

Thanks again guys!

I looked at Volvo Penta's website again... and the only thing available seems to be the online parts catalog and the owners manual. Any help I can get on this would be much appreciated

You said you have a 5.0 FL. There are alpha characters missing from your model number.
I asked if you had the 5.0FLPMDA, 5.0FLPNCB or 5.0FLPNCM due to how often the PDS bearing replacement is over-looked.

If your model number is 5.0FLPNCA or 5.0FLPNCS, or 5.0FLPHUB, 5.0FLPHUE, 5.8FLIHUB, 5.8FLIHUE, 5.8FLPHUB, 5.8FLPHUE then it becomes a moot point because you'll have a Gimbal system drive.

Just look'n out for you! :D

Thanks Ricardo for responding! The problem I'm facing is I'm using all aftermarket performance parts (including a block) where I don't have the "actual" model number of the block anymore. I kinda outsmarted my self!! All of the old stuff was scrapped. I can only assume that was the block I have. What I'm running is a "ford 302 " block with the wiring from a 5.0 and a single prop SX drive. All of this powerhouse I built is in a 94 Baha Cruisers 240 walk around. When I even get into this story with a marine parts dealer, they want nothing to do with it! After another look at the diagram you gave me, I think I understand where it is. I would feel much more comfortable attacking that project once I hear this motor run...is there any sources that you know of to find the electrical schematics I might need?? Seems you might be my only hope and I really appreciate the input!
