parked the boat for winter nin

parked the boat for winter nine months ago Boat ran fine. took her out sat started up 1st crank
warmed it up put it in gear and nothing . prop wont turn. doesn't seem to be engaginvg in gear
forward or reverse. prop will turn in neutral or in gear no difference. Please advise thanks Joe

Remove the shift cover and see

Remove the shift cover and see if the shift cable is moving the shift mechanism.

"Some shifter boxes had a nice neutral throttle hidden as a button or you just pulled the handle out of the box about 1/2 inch. See if you have left it in neutral throttle. Or as El says maybe the cable is broke or disconnected. That cover has a long bolt on the bottom and 1/2 a wing nut on the top, so don't but just loosen the top and it will swing off from the bottom-- also the cable is held on (anchored) to the front of the gear box by a 2" ss plate and 2 bolts. Inside is the brass threaded fastener and cotter key.

I have a 270d leg and I have just noticed a little bit of play when I move the leg back and forth. The play is in the pivot pin and bushing on the protective helmet. I have never noticed it before is this normal or should I change the pin and bushing before putting the boat back in the water
