"I have a 1982 Bayliner 2350 Monterey Sunbridge, with a Volvo Penta 200D engine. The engine seems to be a Chevy 350, but the parts don't always seem to support this?
A little Background on me, I bought the boat in November of 2006 and have been working on it since then, doing the little things I am able to do. I am not a mechanic, but I am learning about the boat as I go. I have hired a mechanic to work on the boat and get it ready for some fishing and fun this summer.
The trouble I am having comes from what type of engine the boat has? The Mechanic says it is a Chevy Small block probably a 350, but there seems to be parts on it hat are ford parts, such as the starter? How can i tell what type of engine do I have?
The engine block says Volvo 200D? Does anyone know? I'm having a lot of trouble finding parts I need since I am unable to say what type of engine I have for sure. I will gladly trade you any computer repair advice for this boat advice."
