I was wondering if anyone can help me with a situation im having. I have 2007 boat with the Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI EFI engine in it. I bought it last summer to discover the engine was shot from overheat . I paid a local marina loads of money to completely rebuild it (through insurance). The boat runs great when under throttle. Only once the engine is warmed up and its placed in neutral it starts to rev up and down then eventually stalls out after one last big rev. I have brougth it back to the marina 3-4 times and now they tell me they cant find any problem with it! The first time i brought in in they said it was bad gas . replaced fuel filter ran high test gas and fuel injector cleaner threw it. Still does the same thing!Idle fien wen cold. I also noticed wen they rebuilt it runs at max oil pressure them drop once warmed up. Im wondering if th edrop in oil pressure creates a problem? I also say something in another blog about paint depsits in fuel line? Not sure if this might be the issue. Can anyone offer advise. i have taekn video of the running problem to send to marina. I personally think they are avoiding to fix it to to it being a Be-back they need to cover under warranty!
